‘Sholtar’ is a wily imposter on the fortune telling scene. She would dearly love to be like ‘Moltar’ the wise fortune telling mole, and has acquired every prop to make herself look like him. But she actually has no genuine psychic powers at all. The phrase ‘Much in the window, nothing in the room’ fits Sholtar perfectly, but she looks so real it is hard to believe she’s not. The phoney nature of this shrew could be forgiven if it weren’t for the time and money she collects daily for her fake reading… money from the weak and lost.
When Oshi the ‘ghost mole’ appears in the field, she becomes part of the hate campaign to have him removed, thus revealing her true colours; anyone with any real divinatory power would know immediately that Oshi is not a ghost, but an albino mole. Once exposed as a fraudster, she is forced to close her business and follow a more authentic path. She turns out to be actually rather nice once she is able to stop living a lie… and she becomes a successful flower arranger.
