I have finally finished all the boxes for ‘The Field’ and they are safely installed at the Viktor Wynd Museum of Curiosities until April 2018. It’s on 11, Mare Street London and is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm – 11pm.

I sited a postbox on the edge of the Island…when you opened it an Elvis track sung by a local singer called David Staddon played ‘It’s Now or Never’ whilst inside was a scene depicting two pieces of land getting married.
I created a sensor activated small red ghost that illuminated when anybody walked past the tree it was suspended from. It represented a story that I read that every baby on Portland in the 17th/18th Century was christened in the same red ‘whittle’. This was an illuminated tin box that I placed on the possible burial site of a mass grave of shipwrecked ‘foreigners’.It had inside an illusionary scene of a shipwrecked vessel and it’s mirrored reflections.
This was a shop installation in Fortuneswell that I created for the duration of the festival. It sold all sorts of artefacts and potions based on the history of witchcraft and superstition on Portland throughout the 18th Century.
I sited this piece in St. George’s Church, Portland. It’s based on the fact that everyone on Portland was more commonly known by their ‘nickname’….so I’ve dressed them up as imaginary figures floating out to sea on an old top hat.
It was great to be at the Museum this Summer….and very pleased that some of my ‘Field’ characters have found a permanent home in the Museum. I will be returning next Christmas with more work for the window and the Museum.
